These sample itineraries are designed to help visitors experience the best of Whitefish and the surrounding area. Mix and match activities based on your interests, travel style, and time of year. Many guests use these suggestions as a starting point for planning their days while staying at Hidden Moose Lodge.
- Take a Red Bus Tour on Going-to-the-Sun Road or if the road still isn’t open to vehicles, rent a road or e-bike!
- Just outside of Glacier National Park is where you’ll Goats of Glacier Farm. This working farm is home to goats, alpacas, mini highland cows and more. They even offer goat yoga!
- Soak up all of Lake McDonald! Take a boat tour or rent a paddleboard or tandem kayak and enjoy a picnic.
- As you finish up in Glacier for the day and head back to the Moose, stop at Josephine’s for dinner. Their dishes and spirits are all handcrafted and sure to leave your belly full and happy!
- After enjoying breakfast with us, hit the road and head North to the quaint town of Eureka. Their main st is filled with adorable shops, bakeries and amazing lunch spots too! You could spend 2-3 hours here.
- Lake Koocanusa is a must on your trip to Montana, if you have the time! It borders Canada and the USA and is in the Kootenai Valley, hence KOOCANUSA. The town of Rexford has a wonderful Marina that offers great food and cold beverages to take it all in too!
- From Lake Koocanusa, head west towards the town of Libby and amaze yourself with the Kootenai Falls and the swinging bridge. Several famous movies were filmed here too!
- Head back to Whitefish and enjoy dinner in town and then come back to the Moose and enjoy a glass of wine or cold beer and relax in our outdoor hot tub!
- Whitefish has miles of amazing trails to explore by foot or by mountain bike! Several in town shops offer daily. mountain bike rentals and you can bike to the trails from them!
- Interested in renting an e-bike, let us know!! Take off from the Moose and head to City beach where you can relax or rent a paddleboard and then head into town to shop and dine! Every Tuesday is our Farmer’s Market!
- Head on up to the Big Mountain and get yourself some huckleberries by hiking the abundane of trails, take a scenic lift ride to the summit and so much more!
- This year, Whitefish Theatre Company is holding 3 amazing musician/band concert tributes. Dolly, Queen, and Heart. We’re sure you don’t want to miss out on these!
